Twitter wants to show more ads to some users and it is not a bad idea. Twitter is reportedly showing more ads to certain groups in order to serve advertisers. According to Twitter serving ads to relevant audience will make Twitter advertising more strong and effective.
Twitter told CNBC that it shows very little amount of ads to its users. In fact some don’t see any ads at all in their feeds but now Twitter is making some changes.
In the online advertising world showing few ads is considered good for user experience. Few ads make the users happy. According to Twitter relevant ads will keep users on the platform.
Twitter will show ads to everyone who uses the social media platform. Some users will see more ads than usual but it is okay according to Twitter spokesperson.
See the statement provided by a Twitter spokesperson:
“Historically, users with high follower counts have seen fewer ads. Recently, we’ve shifted our approach to showing ads to everyone who uses Twitter and as a result, some will notice an increase in the number of ads they’re seeing.”
So if you are seeing more ads, don’t worry.
